What To Expect
CURA Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine
At CURA we pride ourselves on providing excellence in the experience from start to finish, with an emphasis on a concierge-style approach for all of our patients. Our team will ensure that you are listened to, provided with a comprehensive treatment session, and that we are creatively collaborating with your entire healthcare team to progress towards all of your goals with every session. We know that investing in your health is a priority, caring for you is ours.
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows your therapist to assess the area for which you are being treated. For neck and shoulders, loose t-shirts and/or tank tops are recommended. For hips and lower extremity injuries, shorts are preferred. Initial evaluations are typically 60 minutes in duration, allowing for discussion, assessment, and treatment. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, but may last longer based on the complexity of the treatment program. Please wear appropriate footwear for exercise and activities in the clinic.
Thanks to an Illinois law signed in 2018, patients are allowed to access physical therapy services without a doctor’s referral. We will continue to communicate and inform your healthcare team of your progress as required by law, but also to ensure continuity and quality of care. Although this does pertain to a wide variety of commercial insurances, patients that have Medicare, Personal Injury, and Workman’s Comp claims, will require a doctor referral. We recommend contacting your insurance carrier to verify the details of your particular plan.
Athletes, aspiring athletes, and individuals aiming to improve their speed, agility, strength, condition and performance in the activities that drive their passion, would benefit from our custom tailored programs. Baseline tests are performed to set initial performance metrics, and a sports & performance plan is established and tracked toward defined and time-based goals.
Our stretching and recovery plans include hands-on, custom tailored stretching programs to address each individuals need, as well as dedicated time in our recovery room that offers zero gravity lounge chairs, compression boots, electrical stim, and additional modalities to promote optimal recovery, rest, and preparation for continued performance.
CURA is IN NETWORK with BCBS IL and Medicare. Although we are not in network with other insurance carriers, we do offer cash-based treatment sessions, as well as provide our patients with the necessary documentation to file for reimbursement to their insurance providers as “self-claims”.
CURA accepts all major credit cards, checks, cash, FSA, and HSA payments. Mobile payment apps are also accepted.
